OHS Band Weekly Updates 1/30/17

Hello everyone,

Here are the band announcements for this week.

Google Classroom

Keep checking Google Classroom for assignments. Right now, we are planning on 1-2 assignments a week on Google Classroom over the course of the semester. Here are assignments that should have been completed and assignments that are due soon.

Goal Sheet: Due Friday, January 13

Scales – Pre-Assessment: Due Friday, January 20

Repertoire Project #1: Due Monday, January 23

Sight-reading – Pre-Assessment: Due Tuesday, January 31

Pitch Tendency Project/Timpani Tuning Video: Due Friday, February 3

ForAllRubrics

We will also be using an online rubric site to help track student progress and provide feedback. Students can sign up for the website ForAllRubrics with their school email at the following link: https://forallrubrics.com/join/79774/. Students who are having issues creating/logging in are encouraged to come to the band room before/after school very briefly for help.

We have already used this site to fill out and give feedback via rubrics. It’ll be very important for students to use this to keep up with the class.

Senior Night – Pep Band

Senior night for OHS Pep Band will be Friday, February 10. Information for seniors and their parents will be made available soon.

IHSA Solo and Ensemble Students who are performing solos at the IHSA Solo and Ensemble contest should have their major scales and chromatic scale memorized. Collaboration Concert

We are excited to host Heyworth High School Band with this year’s Collaboration Concert. Details about the day will be released in the next couple of weeks. Like last year, you can watch the concert via live streaming at this link: http://thecube.com/e/709332.
