Hello everyone,
We hope you had a wonderful break. It’s Madrigal week! Here are the announcements for this week.
Madrigal Notes from Mrs. A-M
It is Madrigal week!
What does that mean for your High School student?
We are practicing our music during class.
We are staying after school every day this week!
Students who would like to drink water during the performance need to bring a closed container clearly marked with their name. There are no open water containers in the gym or back stage.
Monday and Tuesday all students involved in the Madrigal Feaste meet in the Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. We run the show and dismiss by the shuttle bus.
Wednesday – Schlepping Day! We will work from 3:30 – 9:30 p.m. setting up the gym, assembling the castle walls, and putting up Christmas Trees. WE NEED YOU! Come for an hour, come for six!
All students are required to stay after school on Thursday, December 1st for our dress rehearsal. We will practice from 3:30 – 9:00 p.m. Dinner (Pizza) will be provided.
Performance is Friday, December 2nd. Students need to be dressed and in the Chorus Room by 4:30 p.m. Students will need to pack or purchase a hearty snack to eat before the show. Students will need to give their cell phones to our Wardrobe Manager. They will not be allowed to have them with them during the performance. The students will assemble at 5:45 for a meeting in the gym. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. They will be finished by 9:45 p.m. They may leave after they have reset their tables for Saturday and checked in their costume.

No food is served until everything is all cleaned up and put away! (Eighth Grade students are not required to do this).

b. Or we need 12 kitchen “linemen” from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Pick one or do both. Email me (debbie.aurelius-muir@olympia.org) if you can help.
Minier Christmas Parade
The Minier Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 3. We will play “Let It Snow!” which will be handed out yesterday (November 28) in class. Call time for the parade is 1:00 PM at the school and 1:30 PM in Minier. The parade steps off at 2:00 PM and we should be finished around 2:30 PM. We will be finished in time for those involved with Madrigals. Dress is something weather appropriate and festive (Santa hats, ugly sweaters, etc.). After we finish with the parade, food will be provided for the entire band. Those that live in Hopedale and Minier can meet us at the parade. Students are encouraged to add festive decorations to their instruments that will not damage them.
Pep Band
It’s time for basketball season and that means one thing, pep band. There are two games on the schedule that occur during this semester and one game over winter break. The games are on December 6 (Prairie Central), 9 (U-High), and January 6 (Central Catholic). Call time for each game will be 6:15 PM. Depending on how close the game is, it could finish between 8:45 PM and 9:15 PM. For these games, students should wear something Olympia NOT in the visiting school’s colors.
Pep Band Binders
We will have a pep band binder making party after school on Monday, December 5. This will involve copying, three hole punching, and organizing music in brand new binders! Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated.
