OHS Band Weekly Updates 8/8/16

Hello everyone,

Here are the announcements for this week. Happy start of the school year!

Band Camp

Congratulations to everyone a very successful and productive band camp. We have accomplished and improved so much since the beginning of the season. Let’s keep up the hard work as we start the second half of marching band season.

Friends and Family Preview

Thank you everyone for coming out to the Friends and Family Potluck and Preview. In case you missed the performance, you can watch it by clicking here.

Activity Cards

Each student is responsible for having current activity card on file with the office. Students who do not have one by the start of the school year will not be allowed to perform (starting with Spartan Night) until this is turned in to the office. More information about the Activity Card and it’s requirements can be found by clicking here. Students should plan on bringing their Activity Card with them to rehearsal this week or to school next week on Wednesday/Thursday.

Again, if a student does not have an Activity Card, they will not be allowed to perform until they have one. Any questions about the process of obtaining an activities card can be directed to the office.

Calendar Updates

Please make the following changes to your calendars.

Remove – Rehearsal - Tuesday, August 16

Add – Spartan Night – Friday, August 19 (more details to come next week)

DCI World Championships Finals Watch Party

We are hosting a watch party for the 2016 DCI World Championships Finals on Saturday, August 13. The action starts at 5:00 PM. Plan on arriving at OHS around 4:45 PM. It should wrap up before 10:00 PM. Drum and Bugle Corps is considered the major league of the marching/pageantry arts. The World Championships will feature the best drum corps in the nation. This is marching band at its finest.

National Anthem

We will be playing the National Anthem (memorized!!) for the Danvers Days Parade on August 21. You can find the music and part assignments by clicking here.
