Hello everyone,
Here are this week’s announcements.
All OMS Bands
Cheesecake Fundraiser
Make plans to pick your student’s order this Friday, March 11. Because the product will need to be stored in refrigerator or freezer overnight, it is important that all orders are picked up on this day. We do not have any space in the school’s freezer to store any product that is left behind on that evening. Orders can be picked up between 3:15 PM and 5:30 PM.
Music Advocacy Corner
Did you know as a parent of a current OMS Band student that you are valuable part of our recruitment process? You have firsthand experience of the positive effects band has made on your child’s life. Simply sharing your experiences with parents you know of incoming 5th Graders can be very beneficial and reassuring to families who may have little to no musical experience.

6th Grade Band
Band Tour
We have officially set the date for the 6th Grade Band tour to each elementary building. The date will be Tuesday, April 5th. A permission slip, itinerary, and explanation of the day will be available when we return from Spring Break.
7th/8th Grade Band
Guest Clinician
We will have a guest clinician join us during our respective band class periods on Tuesday, March 29. Mr. Todd Stalter, band director at Eureka High School, will be out to work with both the 7th and 8th Grade Bands during their class periods. Mr. Stalter is a renowned composer/arranger and music educator. He is also is frequently asked to adjudicate organizational contest and was one of our three judges at contest this year. It is important that we have everyone at rehearsal that day to make this as positive of an experience as it can be.
Evening Rehearsals
Our next set of evening rehearsals are approaching (including one TONIGHT!). Here is the list of remaining rehearsals.
Monday, March 7 – 6:00-8:00 – Sectional Night
Monday, April 4 – 6:00-8:00 – Sectional Night
Monday, May 2 – 6:00-8:00 – Guest Clinician (Mrs. Katrina Fitzpatrick – Morton Jr. High School)
While we understand that these rehearsals can be inconvenient at times, they are necessary for this group to have successful performances.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call.
Thank you,
Kyle Brubaker
