Hello everyone,
Here are the announcements for this week.
IHSA Solo and Ensemble
Congratulations to everyone on their successful performances at Solo and Ensemble and Millikin University this past Saturday. The results for the band events are as follows:
Cloe Spracklen, Euphonium Solo – Division 1 (Superior)
Matthew Nelson, Alto Saxophone Solo – Division 2 (Excellent)
Sadie Donaldson/Reagan Brown, Flute Duet – Division 2 (Excellent)
Emma Spracklen, Clarinet Solo – Division 1 (Superior)
Brooke Dean, Tenor Saxophone Solo – Division 1 (Superior)
Logan Robb, Trumpet Solo – Division 1 (Superior)
Hannah Lawless, Flute Solo – Division 1 (Superior)
OMS Sectional Night
The 7th/8th Grade Band will have a sectional night tonight from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Let me know if you’re willing to help out.
Cheesecake Fundraiser
Make plans to pick your student’s order this Friday, March 11. Because the product will need to be stored in refrigerator or freezer overnight, it is important that all orders are picked up on this day. We do not have any space in the school’s freezer to store any product that is left behind on that evening. Orders can be picked up between 3:15 PM and 5:30 PM.
Save the Date
On Wednesday, April 13, we will have a special guest clinician join the group to rehearse with us during 5th Block. It is important that we have everyone at this rehearsal. Our guest clinician will be Dr. James Lambrecht.
Dr. Lambrecht is the director of bands at Augustana College in the Quad Cities. Not only is he a respected member of the band community in the state but also well-known on the national and international level. In December, Dr. Lambrecht gave a really good interview on a podcast for band directors (episode 007). You can find this interview at the following link: http://www.thebandmasters.com/podcast/.
