Hello everyone,
Here are your announcements for this week.
Congrats!
Nice job with both performances this weekend. It was hot but we actually are starting to see our conditioning to work for us. Keep up the good work.
Tuesday Night
There will NOT be a rehearsal this Tuesday due to the Open House. We are asking that parents attending the event stop by the Chorus Room at 6:00 PM for a very brief parent meeting.
First Day of School
Wednesday, August 19 will officially be a Band Day. That means all students who are in band should be present for rehearsal. We are planning to have a full rehearsal outside. Students should bring the appropriate shoes/clothes, instruments, drill, etc. to rehearsal. We will begin putting Movement 3 onto the field.
In addition to having rehearsal outside, a hard copy of the syllabus will be available for students to take. I’ve also included a hard copy as an attachment to the weekly email.
Spartan Night
There are a few changes to Spartan Night on Friday, August 21. First of all, we will not be taking pictures at all. Call time for students will be changed to 5:45 PM. The band will be introduced and announced in the OHS Gym at 6:15 PM. We will play the school song and wrap up the rest of the evening. The band should be finished at 6:30 PM.
Friends and family who care to watch the event should know that it officially begins at 5:30 PM and concludes with the band/cheerleaders performing the school song.
Game Tape – Special Edition
Since we will not have rehearsal on Tuesday, August 18, I’ve included a two part special edition of game tape that can be found at the following links:
Drill Rehearsal Plan
Attached to the weekly email newsletter is our rehearsal plan for putting the rest of the show on the field. If students miss a rehearsal, it is their responsibility to get caught up with everyone else. That means they will need to schedule time with their sections/section leaders to learn any missed drill/music.
